A green heaven in town

This small town garden is designed to be an inviting green refuge in the centre of the city. There is a play of textures and movement with the grasses and the flowing water. Scent, brought by roses, rosemary and trachelospermum, also play an important role. The purpose is to create an inviting and soft backdrop to the equally calm living rooms. As the garden matures, nature will take centre stage.

The stone of the steps and the water feature has been hand finished to give a weathered feel. The light fittings, spout of the water feature and impressive planter in the front garden are all in aged bronze. This colour picks up the colour of the emerging rose buds and carpinus topiaries.

The perennial planting is allowed to grow high and climbers, such as the unusual Schizophragma hydrangeoides ‘Rose sensation’, and the climbing rose ‘Cecile Brunner’, are cladding the walls.
